RENOVATION PROJECT WISH LIST
BASEMENT
New multi-purpose room in skating area: We are not completely sold on making it a new skating rink, however, the community is putting pressure on the agency to restore the skating rink and it makes us unique. A multi-purpose floor and room would be most ideal, something youth, seniors and families can use for a variety of uses. Ideas for uses: An indoor walking track for seniors and families.
Skating and/or dance classes for youth
Families could rent the facility out for family gatherings.
High tech video equipment; jumbo screen for video game competitions.
New flooring and lighting throughout the basement, including computer lab.This will be to replace the flooring, repair the boxing ring and update equipment.
Both locker rooms need upgrading to include code approved entry doors, new toilets, shower stalls, lockers and benches.
New flooring and shelving for the three storage rooms in the basement.
The boiler at Findlay Street is out and we are having difficulty with keeping hot water. We were told that the boiler needed to be replaced and the cost is roughly $8,000.
Ceiling replaced throughout the basement. Painting completed throughout the basement.
OVERALL RENOVATIONS NEEDED
Replace heating and air system. The system ducts leak and cold air comes out in the winter and warm air in the summer.
Renovate the two bathrooms on the first floor and make them handicap accessible will cost roughly $20,000.00 each.
Replace flooring in the front hall, teen center, kitchen, senior room, bread room and Athletic Director's office.
Install organized shelving in the food pantry.
Replace ceiling throughout the entire upper floor, including Day Care Upgrade front hall kitchen stove and venting system Install permanent shelving/ cabinetry in the Teen Center to store & secure equipment, games and supplies.
Replace lighting and wall padding in the gymnasium.
Repair floor (doorway) plates between the front hall and the gymnasium.
Repair gymnasium doors on both sides.
Repair or replace front entry doors. The hinges on the front door stay broke and the youth often break the glass. We were told by AE Doors that the framing system on the front entry doors needs to be replaced. It was suggested that we consider a new type door for the entrance.
Install a security system that will allow regular viewing of the entire building as well as connection to cameras installed outside as a part of the City Watch Program.
