Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp offers working parents and disadvantaged families with an opportunity to have their children participate in engaging activities all summer long. Children participate in daily activities that include weekly field trips, reading and math, arts and crafts, going green, physical education, gardening, lessons in nutrition, and tutoring. In addition, children receive breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch is provided through the Cincinnati Public School summer food program and dinner is provided through grants from General Mills and Ronald McDonald House Charities. The summer day camp program operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for 9 weeks. The program serves 50 children between the ages 6 and 12. Funding sources for this program include St. Barnabas Church, General Mills' Healthy Kids Grant, the Walkathon, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and the Jergens Foundation through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Program Partners for 2009 include St. Barnabas Church and Turner Construction. Through the support of these companies and foundations, all 50 children receive full scholarships for summer day camp. We appreciate your dedication in assisting us in providing quality programming and services to the families of the West End and surrounding communities.
